What is a Print Head and How Does It Work?

Every inkjet printer has one thing in common: print heads. And the printer head is undoubtedly the heart of any large format printer. These cutting-edge technologies precisely spray tiny droplets of ink onto the various types of substrates in order to create your desired print. Essentially each print head is connected to the ink supply - either cartridge or ink tank - and powered by a motor which moves back and forth so the print head can fire small droplets of inks from its nozzle plate.

What are the signs that my print head needs to be replaced?
If the print quality of your printer begins to deteriorate or your print head stopped working properly it may be signs that you need to replace you print head. Run one or two cleaning cycles to clear out any dried ink. If you’ve done that and you’re still not seeing an improvement, the next step is to replace the dampers, cap tops anc check if your ink cartridge is not clogged. These steps should resolve most print head problems, but if they don’t, it’s likely time to replace your print head.
